Why is there a Porter Drive Campus?

The Porter Drive complex in the Stanford Research Park is now home to key administrative offices from Land and Buildings, Administrative Systems, and the Controller's office. In the future these offices will move to the new Stanford in Redwood City Campus. Like many universities nationwide, Stanford is developing off-site locations close to the core campus to accommodate growth and ensure that the university continues to meet its academic mission. Porter Post Occupancy Survey Results

The feedback we received from the Porter Post Occupancy Survey was tremendous.  Thank you again for your responses. The information will inform future planning and design decisions. We were able to immediately tackle some requests like furniture moves and the addition of more touchdown tools. Another key area of focus was the development and launch of training programs built around the use of conference room technology and workstation ergonomics. Regrettably there were some elements of the feedback that we are unable to address such as additional showers in the Porter gym and more frequent shuttles to Porter Drive.  We hope to continue making strides in improving the Porter Drive Campus experience and hope that you will partner with Porter Operations (send email to jamesr2@stanford.edu) in that endeavor. You can review the survey results presentation by clicking on the link here.

What's New

“Stanford is blessed with the best and most loyal staff of any university in the country.  I truly believe that, and I never tire of saying it.  That loyalty stems in part from the institution’s inspiring mission and the pride we all feel about being part of that mission.  But loyalty also results from being a great place to work, and we have to do everything we can to make sure the move off campus does not change that for those affected.  Access to transportation, affordable foods and exercise opportunities are among our priorities…Our intent is to ensure that no matter where they are located, staff members always know they are part of Stanford.”
